Plant taxonomy

Thousands of new plant species are discovered every year around the world. Others are reclassified as technology advances, more material is available in herbariums due to the efforts of collectors and we learn more.

So how are plants classified? And how do the experts use taxonomy to solve the mysteries of the plant kingdom? In our next plant conservation webinar, we chat to Prof Peter Linder, Dr Marianne le Roux, Caroline Mashau and Brian du Preez to understand the process behind plant naming and applications of this knowledge.
