BOTSOC NOTICE

Access to SANBI Gardens for BotSoc members

JAN 15, 2024

BotSoc / SANBI Collaboration

BotSoc memberships taken out before 31 March 2023 will continue to enjoy unlimited access to all National Botanical Gardens until the 12-month (365 days) BotSoc membership expires.

Memberships taken out from 1 April 2023 and up to 31 March 2024 qualify for a 10% discount on gate admission fees at South African National Botanical Gardens until the 12-month (365 days) BotSoc membership expires. The sale of BotSoc memberships that will benefit from a 10% discounted gate entry fee comes to an end on 31 March 2024.

SANBI will continue to honour barcoded card-holding BotSoc Life memberships and their accompanying guests with unlimited free garden access.

  • Please note that South African pensioners will still be able to visit National Botanical Gardens for free on a Tuesday. This is a benefit offered by SANBI, the organisation responsible for managing the gardens. This benefit is therefore completely separate to BotSoc membership, and any questions regarding this should be directed to SANBI.
  • All National Botanical Gardens are managed by SANBI (the South African National Biodiversity Institute). BotSoc does not own or manage any of these gardens, but partners with SANBI to support joint SANBI/BotSoc projects.
