Know, grow, protect and enjoy South Africa's indigenous plants
Location: Clanwilliam, WESTERN CAPE, South Africa
Cederberg Branch
Currently, this branch is active as the Clanwilliam Wildflower Society. The wide area covered by the branch, which includes Clanwilliam, West Coast and Namaqualand regions of the Cederberg, means many members are far apart.
About the branch
A future goal is to split this branch into smaller, localised branches, or implement the ‘Twig’ structure used by the Garden Route Branch.
About the Area
The iconic Cederberg mountains are home to more than 360 flower species. This area is unique as it includes four of the eight floral districts included in the Cape Floral Kingdom. So there is plenty to see! Covered as it is in beautiful mountain fynbos, many species of which are threatened, it is no wonder the Cederberg is one of UNESCO’s officially recognised World Heritage Sites.
