Tools to maximise your Citizen Science Data

Join us as we head on a journey to explore BotSoc’s mantra to “know, grow, protect and enjoy” South Africa’s indigenous plants. This month’s webinar hosted by BotSoc Conservation Manager, Dr Martina Treurnicht, will introduce a few important spatial tools – such as the South African Vegetation Map (VegMap) and iNat integrated projects and tools – that you can utilise in your citizen science efforts as we prepare for the upcoming City Nature Challenge (26-29 April 2024). We’ll also dive into how your citizen science data gets upscaled to revise and update species assessments in the National Red List, and how this Red Listing process feeds into other important conservation projects across the country.

Our guest speakers for the April webinar: Kagiso Mogajane (SANBI, Vegetation Intern), Anisha Dayaram (SANBI, Vegetation Scientist) and Hlengiwe Mtshali (SANBI, Red List Scientist).

Save the Date for the next webinar:

30 May
